Post-Production
Students will expand upon the knowledge and skill sets they acquired in WPT 631 and 632 as they delve into the world of High Definition video editing or post-production. Topics to be covered include: Non-linear editing systems (Avid, Final-Cut, Vegas), SFX generation, color correction, audio sweetening techniques and aesthetics, advanced shooting for the edit techniques, advanced editing aesthetics, motion graphics and motion capture.
Instructor: KAREN MCMULLeN
Karen McMullen is a recovering film editor teaching post-production at Long Island University-Brooklyn. She’s head of programming at the upcoming TIDE Film festival and is lead curators for New Voices in Black Cinema at BAM. She’s a juror at the Pan African and Bentonville Film Festivals and has also worked with Sundance, Nantucket and the African Film Festivals. She is a graduate of Brown University.
Karen is has experience in evaluating film for festivals and awards, and has successfully taught complex content in concrete ways that enable students to grasp advanced concepts, as well as apply them in practical situations. She is also adept at building collaborative learning and working environments, which successfully bridge diversity to achieve desired objectives.
